There is no need to be anxious

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

We all have the tendency in a crisis to get anxious. But according to the Word, God does not want us to react this way. He does not want us to be anxious about anything. Instead, whatever the problem is, He wants us to go to Him in prayer and supplication and tell Him what we need while thanking Him for the answer. When we do this, His peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds from all worries, anxieties, and fears.  

You may be thinking, but Pastor Don, you do not know all that I am going through. If you did, you would know how hard it is for me to not be anxious. But friends, remember and notice that I am only repeating what the apostle Paul told us. And it really was not him but the Holy Spirit who prompted him. And know that when he wrote that, he was a prisoner in Rome because he appealed to Caesar regarding his death sentence. The Jews in Jerusalem wanted to put him to death (Acts 28:16-20).

But even under those conditions, he wrote these words. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God.” Think of what was going through his mind at this time.  

Friends, if you are anxious or worried about something, remember those words. For example, If you’re anxious about a debt, go to the Lord and pray, “Lord Jesus, I no longer want to be anxious about this problem. I am handing it over to You and asking for a supernatural working regarding this debt. It is in Your hands now. You are in charge of this debt. I thank you for taking care of this need for me.  

God and His Word are one. As you pray this prayer and cast your care to Him, you will find His peace setting your heart and mind at rest. So be anxious for nothing. Let the One whom nothing is impossible take care of this need for you.
