Angels Are Among us

Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do His commandments, hearkening unto the voice of His Word.   Psalms 103:20

I really don’t care to much for these pictures and figurines that depict angels as being baby like with wings shooting arrows from a bow. That’s not how the Bible describes them. You notice in our scripture that they EXCEL IN STRENGTH. So obviously angels are very strong and able to do extraordinary things.

It’s also important to note that they “DO HIS WORD.” They only operate within the confines of the Word. We’re told in Psalms 91:11-12 that the Lord has given His angels charge over us. I love the AMPC which says, HIS ANGELS WILL ACCOMPANY, DEFEND AND PRESERVE you in all your ways. We can be assured we are covered underneath His wings of refuge and protection.

Hebrews 12:22 speaks of an, “innumerable company of angels.” There’s simply too many to be counted. But just because we can’t always see them or count them, that doesn’t mean that they do not exist and their ministering on our behalf (Hebrews 1:14). Let’s be careful not to be more conscious of demons than we are of angels. Remember what Elisha said to his servant. “THERE ARE MORE OF THOSE WITH US THAN BE AGAINST US (2 Kings 6:16).

And do you remember in Matthew 26:53 when the soldiers came to arrest Jesus, He said, “Do you not know that I can pray and my Father will send twelve legions of angels.” Some translations say that is more than 80 thousand angels He could have summoned to come and rescue Him but He didn’t so He could go to the cross and die for us the death that we deserved. Oh, Glory to God.

All Jesus had to do was ask and all of these legions of angels would have spang into action to deliver Him but He had already made up His mind that He was going to the cross. What a love He and the Father had for us then and NOW. Think about how He gave up His divine protection so you and I can claim all the promises of His protection.

Romans 8:17 tells us that we are “joint heirs with Christ.” That means all of the rights and privileges that Jesus had at His disposal, we also have those same privileges. You have His provision of angelic protection over your life. Wow, what an awesome truth to behold. Praise God forever.
