Do You Want To Live A Long Life

“With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.”   Psalm 91:16

Although this is the last verse in this wonderful Psalm, it certainly isn’t the least important. Quite the contrary. If you desire long life, you need to let this verse be your answer. It’s possible you’re battling a health issue now, but by faith let’s hold fast to this verse together. In Jesus’ Name, I see you healed, healthy, and whole. I see you strong in the Lord and ready to take on any giant that is in your way.

A Bible character that exemplifies long life is Caleb. His story is my favorite. When he was eighty five years old, he said, “I am this day, eighty five years old. As yet I am AS STRONG this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength WAS THEN, so NOW IS my strength for war” (Joshus 14:10-11). Now this verse is not just talking about a number of years but also a quality of life full of health and strength. Caleb remained as strong at eighty five as he was when he was forty five.

That means in the last forty years in the hard, rugged wilderness, his strength, youth, and vigor didn’t diminish. There was no fading away of his strength. Notice what Caleb said next. “Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the Lord will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the Lord said” (Joshua 14:12).

Now here is Caleb at eighty five and he’s ready to fight with GIANTS to gain possession of a mountain. And he did just as he said. Here’s the evidence. “Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb to this day, because he WHOLLY followed the Lord God of Israel” (Joshua 14:14). Think about how impressed we have always been when a teenage shepherd boy picked a fight with one giant named Goliath.

If that impressed us, this situation with Caleb should out right amaze us. He at eighty five took on a WHOLE MOUNTAIN filled with GIANTS. Caleb was so zealous for the Lord’s glory. As far as he was concerned, there was unfinished business because the Lord had promised them the mountain forty years ago. I believe it is very possible because he kept his eyes not on HIMSELF, but on the promises of God, that his biological clock stopped and he simply stopped aging.

I can’t prove that but in light of other scriptures in the Word to support it, it convinces me that something supernatural was taking place in his body. And KNOW THIS, as you meditate on and find strength in God’s promises, the very same thing can happen to you. “Though the outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day” (2 Corinthians 4:16). What a powerful revelation. PTL.
