God sees great things in you

For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7

Try to picture David when he was a shepherd boy. Many who knew him before the battle with Goliath would very likely have seen just an ordinary youth, one who lived at home with his parents and siblings, enjoyed the outdoors and loved music. But where others saw a typical teenager, God saw a king in young David. He saw David’s name being mentioned in honor forever for even the Lord Jesus is called the Son of David.

Try also to picture Moses after he had settled down comfortably in the desert with his wife and children. He might have seen himself happily retiring in the near future. But God had bigger plans for him. God had big dreams for him. God saw the Red Sea opening before him and an entire Egyptian army being wiped out in his presence. God saw in Moses the deliverer of His people.

I do not dare compare myself to David or Moses, but I do remember my younger days as a boy, a teenager and growing into adulthood. Although I felt the call of God on my life at fourteen years of age, I had no idea what I truly would do with it, but all I knew to do was to submit to God. I have never felt I had the expected characteristics of a Pastor.

I’m too tender at times which brings the tears while ministering. I do not apologize for them, but I do wish I did not have that issue. I do not have a strong speaking voice which seems in the natural to be necessary. In other words, I do not fit the profile in my own mind of a Pastor, but all of that did not seem to matter to God. He saw something in me and placed His call on my life.

I am so honored and blessed to be your Pastor and I have a great amount of assurance that God is going to use TFC in a powerful way. But I am so thankful God does not see us as man sees. You remember God saw in fearful Gideon a mighty man of valor and called him so even when he was hiding from his enemies in fear (Judges 6:12). God saw in young David a king and anointed him as one (1 Samuel 16:10-13).

God saw in meek Moses a deliverer and drew him out from obscurity (Exodus 3). Today, God looks beyond what man sees and says about YOU, and He has dreams for YOU that are bigger than you can imagine. Believe and trust Him.
